Business IT
Hardware Supply.

Most clients buy hardware from us because they want one supplier who can spec it, supply it, install it and support it. Rather than three. CoreComms procures and supplies business IT hardware to clients across the North West and West Yorkshire, servers, workstations, laptops, switches, routers, firewalls and wireless access points. Usually as part of a wider install or refresh, occasionally as a one-off.

PROCUREMENT & SUPPLY

Procurement & Supply of Business IT Hardware.

We're a working installer first and a hardware supplier second, which shapes how we sell hardware:

The team draws on fifty-plus years of combined experience across server, workstation, networking and security hardware. If you're not sure whether the kit on your shopping list is right for the job, we'll tell you straight.

We stock-list from major UK distributors so pricing is competitive without us holding warehouse risk
We're vendor-agnostic, with no quotas pushing us towards one manufacturer over another
We'll spec the right kit for the job rather than the highest-margin
We deliver, install, configure and dispose of old kit on the same job
Most hardware we sell goes into installs we're also doing, but we're happy to supply standalone
SERVERS

Servers.

For many small and mid-sized businesses, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, hosted line-of-business apps and cloud backups now cover the workloads that used to need an on-site server. Where you do need one (for performance, control or specific applications), we'll spec, supply and install it properly.

We supply tower servers (HP ProLiant ML, Dell PowerEdge T-series), rackmount (HP ProLiant DL, Dell PowerEdge R-series) and configurable HCI nodes. Always with a properly-rated UPS, structured power and cooling planning, and racked into a comms cabinet that's actually a comms cabinet rather than a glorified shelf.

Where servers still make sense:

Manufacturing sites running on-premise ERP/MES that can't move to cloud
Healthcare practices running EMIS, SystmOne or imaging systems with local storage
Sites with awkward bandwidth where cloud-only operations break under load
Compliance-driven environments where data must remain on-site
Hyper-converged infrastructure for larger estates (VMware, Nutanix, Hyper-V)

Got a project in mind? Let's scope it together.

WORKSTATIONS & LAPTOPS

Workstations & Laptops.

Volume desktop and laptop refresh. The unsexy but necessary part of an IT estate.

For estate-wide refreshes we typically build a standard image, deploy via Microsoft Autopilot or Intune, asset-tag and pre-license each unit, and ship them direct to the user where useful. The old kit gets wiped (DBAN-grade or NIST-compliant), audited, and either re-deployed elsewhere or recycled to WEEE-compliant disposal.

We supply:

Business-class laptops (HP EliteBook, Dell Latitude, Lenovo ThinkPad)
Desktops and small-form-factor PCs for office and shop-floor use
Specialist workstations for CAD, video, finance modelling
Thin clients and zero clients for VDI environments
Docking stations, monitors, peripherals as part of the bundle
NETWORKING EQUIPMENT

Networking Equipment.

This is where most hardware questions start, because the network is what everything else depends on. We supply and install across switching, routing, firewalls and wireless.

Switches

Layer 2 and Layer 3 managed switches sized to the site. PoE+ for IP phones, cameras and access points. Stackable for resilience. Cisco Catalyst, HPE Aruba, Ubiquiti UniFi, Netgear ProSafe. Depending on budget and existing estate.

Routers

Edge routers for site connectivity, dual-WAN routers for primary-plus-Starlink failover, SD-WAN appliances for multi-site organisations. Cisco, MikroTik, Draytek, Ubiquiti and SD-WAN platforms (Meraki, Fortinet) are common.

Firewalls

Next-generation firewalls with content filtering, intrusion prevention, VPN and reporting. Fortinet FortiGate, Watchguard, Cisco Meraki MX, Ubiquiti UDM-Pro depending on scale and the security policy you need to enforce.

Wireless APs

Business-grade access points, Ubiquiti UniFi for cost-effective deployments, Cisco Meraki and Aruba for larger estates, Ruckus for high-density environments (lecture theatres, retail, hospitality).

VENDOR PARTNERSHIPS

Vendor Partnerships.

Vendor selection should follow the use case. Where each one fits:

HP

Workhorse business laptops, desktops and ProLiant servers. UK-strong, well-supported, sensible pricing. Default for many of the corporate refreshes we do.

Dell

Latitude laptops, OptiPlex desktops, PowerEdge servers, EMC storage. Strong in mid-market and enterprise; particularly good for mixed estates that include storage and compute.

Cisco

Networking heavyweight. Switches, routers, firewalls, wireless, telephony. The default for organisations with existing Cisco estates and the IT teams to support them.

Ubiquiti

Cost-effective end-to-end networking (UniFi switches, gateways, access points, UDM-Pro security gateway). Strong for SMB and mid-market where Cisco's price point is hard to justify.

We also work with Lenovo, Aruba, Fortinet, Watchguard, Sonicwall, Mikrotik, Draytek, Synology and others. If you have an existing platform, we'll quote into it. If you're starting fresh, we'll match the platform to the operational maturity of your IT team, there's no point selling Cisco enterprise switching to a 30-person business with no in-house networking knowledge.

POINT-TO-POINT NETWORKS

Wireless Point-to-Point Links.

A clean, high-bandwidth bridge between two buildings, with no trenching, no leased lines, no waiting on a carrier.

When fibre between buildings isn't practical, a wireless point-to-point (PtP) link is often the fastest, cleanest option. We design and install gigabit-class PtP and point-to-multipoint (PtMP) bridges to extend a single network across a campus, yard, warehouse, outbuilding or neighbouring site.

Every link is planned with a proper line-of-sight survey, frequency planning and link-budget calculation, then mounted, aligned and tested to the specified throughput. We work with Ubiquiti, Cambium, MikroTik and Mimosa hardware in licensed and unlicensed bands depending on distance, interference and reliability requirements.

Building-to-building bridges up to 10+ km
Gigabit throughput on the right hardware
Licensed & unlicensed band options
Full line-of-sight & link-budget survey
Pole, wall or rooftop mounting
Resilient failover for primary fibre links

Typical use cases include linking a main office to a warehouse across a yard, getting full network and CCTV access to a portacabin or outbuilding, connecting a second site without paying for a leased line, or providing a wireless failover path alongside an existing fibre circuit.

HOW WE SOURCE

How We Source.

Pricing model is straightforward: we buy from authorised UK distributors at wholesale, add a margin you'll see on the quote, and deliver. Variation orders only happen if the scope changes, and they're agreed with you in writing first.

For estate refreshes we'll usually run a quick comparison across two or three vendors so you can see like-for-like pricing, performance and support terms. Particularly useful when the answer isn't obvious (HP vs Dell laptops, Cisco vs Ubiquiti switching).

Lead times: most laptops, desktops, switches and access points are 1 to 2 weeks from order. Servers, firewalls and bespoke configurations 2 to 6 weeks depending on factory build.

SERVICE AREAS

Service Areas.

We supply hardware UK-wide via courier and install on site across the North West and West Yorkshire. Hardware-supply-only orders ship anywhere; install jobs are predominantly Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and the wider North.

If you're outside our normal patch and want supply-and-install, ask, because we travel for the right project.
