GP Surgery IT.
A Leeds GP practice runs on EMIS Web or SystmOne, NHSmail, IP telephony with call queueing, networked imaging and increasingly video consultation, all riding on the network underneath. Both clinical systems are modest on bandwidth but unforgiving of latency and packet loss: a screen that pauses for three seconds is an unhappy clinician mid-consultation.
We design GP networks with QoS for clinical traffic, proper segregation between clinical, admin, guest and IoT traffic, and clinical-grade WiFi, meaning minimum -65dBm coverage in clinical areas and fast roaming so a GP moving between consulting rooms does not drop. For the PCN-scale practice groups running multiple branch sites across Leeds, we build networks that let every branch behave as one practice, with reception CCTV and self-check-in designed alongside the practice manager and DPO.
Dental Practice IT.
The Leeds dental sector, spanning NHS practices, private clinics and specialist referral centres plus the orbit of the university’s dental school, has needs that differ from general practice. Practice management platforms (Software of Excellence, R4, Carestream) each have their own network foibles, and imaging is the real infrastructure driver: intra-oral scanners, panoramic radiography and cone-beam CT generate files that have to move from chair to server to viewer without queueing behind email.
We design the backbone bandwidth, switch assignments and storage paths around the imaging workflow, keep payment terminals and patient WiFi properly segregated, and install around surgery hours so no chair time is lost.
Care Home IT.
West Yorkshire’s care home estate is one of the largest in the North, spread across Leeds, Bradford and Wakefield, and care home IT covers a broader scope than GP or dental work: clinical records, resident and family WiFi, nurse call integration, telehealth and CCTV.
We provide resident WiFi that is properly segregated from clinical and admin networks with bandwidth fairness across rooms; infrastructure that integrates with modern nurse call platforms (Aid Call, Static Systems, Tunstall, Spectralink) for paging to staff phones and escalation rules; and CCTV in communal areas only, never resident rooms or bathrooms, designed with CQC guidance and GDPR in mind. Our engineers are briefed on care-home working: dignity and privacy in resident areas, awareness of medication rounds and shift handovers, and no cables left across resident walkways.
DSPT and Compliance.
Every provider of NHS-funded care, whether on a GP contract, in NHS dentistry or as a CQC-registered care home, must complete an annual DSPT (Data Security and Protection Toolkit) submission. The technical assertions cover patch management, network segmentation, access control, backup and recovery, encryption and asset management.
We design Leeds healthcare networks that hold up against those assertions and supply the evidence pack, meaning configuration documentation, test results and asset registers, that your submission and any audit will need. We also work to the five Cyber Essentials technical controls and can support practices through CE and CE+ certification. Certification itself is done by an IASME-accredited body rather than by us; we build and document networks that pass first time.
